Breast Lift Miami

A breast lift procedure is the key to perkier, younger-looking breasts. If you have lost weight, undergone pregnancy, practiced breastfeeding, or simply gotten older, your breasts may have lost their original shape and contour. When breasts sag, they often look and feel older, and the position of the nipple trends downward.

Mastopexy is a procedure that can reposition and reshape your breasts, allowing for a more desirable look, shape and feel. Since 2000, the rate at which people get breast lifts has increased by 70 percent. (1) And if all these people are getting the breasts of their dreams, then why shouldn’t you?

At Miracle Mile Cosmetic Surgery Center, you can achieve the breast contour you desire. We have a variety of breast lift techniques that will provide precisely what is needed for your breasts to become new and improved. Our offices are located in Miami, so we know a thing or two about bikini bodies

About Breast Lifts

The breast lift procedure is a cosmetic surgery that reverses the effects of breast ptosis. Breast ptosis is characterized by sagging of the breast itself and movement of the nipple from an aesthetically optimal position. These symptoms are often caused by changes in the size of the breast.

When the breasts grow with changes in weight, age, or hormones, the skin and ligaments that define their character stretch with it. Unfortunately, when the breast deflates due to opposing causes such as weight loss, the skin and ligaments cannot reform to properly accommodate smaller breast size, and there is less supportive tissue as a result. Without the same form-fitting support that was there before its initial growth, the breast cannot rest in its original shape and position.

When breast ptosis has altered the look and feel of the breast, the symptoms can be measured in different ways. For example, the vertical position of breasts on the chest wall will be lower. The contour of the breast shape will lack aesthetically pleasing curvature. The upper pole of the breast, which is the portion of the breast above the nipple and areola, will lack fullness.

Additionally, The aesthetic condition of the breast can be measured in the relationship between the nipple-areolar complex (NAC) and the inframammary fold (the crease at the bottom of the breast) of a particular breast. This relationship provides a general measurement for the severity of breast ptosis. (2) Ultimately, the breast lift procedure enhances this relationship, improving the relative position of the different parts of the breast in the pursuit of a more youthful and healthier-looking bosom.

Benefits of Breast Lift Surgery

Having breasts that are saggier and flatter than traditional beauty standards can have negative effects on a woman’s self-esteem. Perky and shapely breasts are a mark of beauty, youth, and health, and a breast lift procedure can make this a reality for you. Your breast lift procedure will restore your breasts to a more natural shape. It will also reposition your breasts and nipple placement so that your breasts rest comfortably and symmetrically on the chest. A breast lift could be just the thing you need to break out the bikini and live proudly in your body!

Who is a Candidate for a Breast Lift?

You may be an ideal candidate for the breast lift procedure if your breasts appear to sag, or if your nipples point downward. A breast lift procedure can reshape your breasts to reverse the effects of sagging and to improve the placement and appearance of your nipples. Breast lifts are also great for addressing asymmetry.

If you are currently nursing children, plan on becoming pregnant or plan on gaining weight, it might be best to wait to have a breast lift. These potential events will likely undo the effects of the procedure. It is not recommended to undergo the procedure until your weight is likely to remain constant.

Preparation

Preparation for your breast lift may require:

  • Medical evaluation and lab testing
  • Adjusting your medication regimen
  • Receiving a mammogram
  • Quitting smoking

How to best prepare for your breast lift will depend on your current health and medical history. It is important to take the recommended measures seriously to ensure a successful procedure and recovery.

Breast Lift Procedure

At Miracle Mile, breast lifts are usually performed as outpatient procedures. To avoid discomfort during the surgery, you will receive general anesthesia beforehand.

The surgery itself involves an incision in the breast. This incision allows the surgeon to modify the tissue within, tightening, lifting and reshaping it. Additionally, the nipple is repositioned, along with a possible resizing of the areola, depending on the predetermined details of your treatment plan. Finally, the incision is closed so that the recovery process may begin.

We offer three typical methods of incision at Miracle Mile:

  • Donut incision. This incision is made around the areola. This is best for mildly sagging breasts (mild breast ptosis).
  • Lollipop incision. This incision is made around the areola, and then vertically, down the middle of the breast from the areola to the inframammary fold. This is best for moderate breast ptosis.
  • Anchor/Inverted-T incision. This incision is made on the areola, and then horizontally along the length of the inframammary fold. This is best for moderate-to-severe breast ptosis.

Recovery

How quickly you recover from a breast lift depends on several factors. Your age, health, and incision type will determine the rate at which you recover. In general, younger patients, as well as less-invasive incision types, contribute to speedier recoveries. On average, recovery time takes about 3-4 weeks. You should expect to see moderate bruising and swelling, and feel some discomfort within the first week. You should wear supportive bras without wire during your recovery. We advise you not to engage in strenuous activity, such as lifting heavy items until this has been approved by your surgeon.

Results

The incredible results of your breast lift will begin to show as soon as your swelling has gone down. Your breasts will rest higher on your chest, and they will sit perkier. Not only will the shape be better, but the skin will also be smoother and tighter, vastly improving the overall aesthetic impression of your breasts.

Your breasts will stay youthful and contoured as long as your weight remains constant. If you gain a significant amount of weight, or become pregnant, your breasts will likely grow and therefore stretch beyond the alterations of the breast lift. Additionally, while the natural effects of aging on the breasts are unavoidable, a healthy diet and active lifestyle can slow this down.

What is Breast Lift Scarring Like?

The scars from the breast lift procedure are not cause for excessive concern. While there will be some scarring around the areola, it will not be very noticeable. The scarring around other areas of the breast will likely fade after some time.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

While breast lifts do improve the shape of breasts, they do not significantly alter the size. At Miracle Mile, we offer additional procedures to accommodate this. You can pair your breast lift with a breast reduction, as well as with a breast augmentation (insertion of implants). These pairings work hand in hand to optimize both the refinement and the beauty of your breasts.

If you’re going to have beautiful perky breasts, why stop there? We also offer tummy tuck and mommy makeover procedures. With these complementary procedures you can achieve the body you’ve always wanted!
